Herniated Disc

Disc herniation can irritate or compress nerve roots, causing radicular pain, numbness, or weakness.

A herniated (ruptured or slipped) disc may compress nearby nerve tissue. Symptoms depend on disc level and nerve involved.

Treatment is individualized; many patients improve without surgery. When neurological deficits progress or pain remains disabling, microsurgical decompression may be considered.
